Tall Tribe table lamp

The tribe table lamp first designed for The Firmdale Hotels,Charlotte Street Hotel.

This hotel is in Fitzgrovia in London.

In the hotels initial beginnings, I worked with Kit Kemp to design a table lamp which would reflect the varied history of the area. I researched the Bloosmbury group and the african influence in art deco.

There is a strong African influence from the Ndelbe tribe with their high necklaces.

In this design I extended the neck, to give a striking silhouette and height suitable for hall tables and rooms which require a taller light.

Lampshade, seen in the Danish Cord cylindrical, is optional in the drop down menu.

The lamp is made from hand turned in Norfolk from poplar.

stained black and a deep black wax then applied.

The discs are hand spun aluminium .

2 aluminium spun discs.

An extended neck in patinated brass.

The shade is made from hand weaving danish cord around a metal frame.

The max footprint is; 18cm

The height with the Danish Cord shade is 105cm.

When used with a clear lamp beautiful shadows are cast.

Everything is made in East Anglia, UK.
