In 1996 I designed the first Disc table lamp, this version was made from hand spun anodised aluminium discs, it caught the attention of Kit Kemp who was opening The Charlotte Street Hotel - opened 2000. Adaptations of this design was used on the bar, we also anodised in pink and then reworked in Lucite for The Soho Hotel and then when The Ham Yard Hotel opened we made adaptations for the bar too. It became their iconic lamp, and can still be seen on the bars and in the rooms of these beautiful hotels.
It has coloured Lucite discs placed between two clear discs, held apart by rubber washers.
The coloured discs can be swapped to match the room’s decor.
This lamp combines a classic shape with a modern look.
